to get here Accommodation
What is it?
The Discovery Coast is a unique outdoor holiday
destination with a beautiful and varied coastline stretching from Baffle
Creek in the south to Foreshores and Hummock Hill Island in the north.
Where is
it?
It is strategically located on the Queensland
Coast at the boarder between South East and Central Queensland.
Situated about 460 Klms north of Brisbane the
capital of the state and the nearest International airport.
Agnes Water is approximately the geographic center of the Discovery Coast
and is equally distant, some 120 klms from Bundaberg
in the south and Gladstone in the north.
How do
you get there?
Regular domestic air flights of approximately
one hour are available from Brisbane to both Bundaberg
and Gladstone followed by a 90 min drive by car.
The standard rail or the Tilt Train from Brisbane
will stop at Miriam Vale by arrangement and a number of coach services
make regular scheduled stops daily at Miriam Vale.
Traveling by car due north from Brisbane along the Bruce hwy for 6 hrs
to Miriam Vale, or divert through Bundaberg like the majority do.
Either way it is an easy day's drive.
Unfortunately there is no scheduled maritime service
to the area as yet.
Accommodation
Accommodation types are varied and include Motel, B&B's, Holiday Homes,
Units and Caravan Parks, during holidays these are at a premium and it
would pay to book.
If you only have a text browser you will be missing out on these
places.
